Restasis helps the body produce its own tears, so it is seen as a more of a solution, not just a ‘patch up’ as over the counter eye drops can be. It is perfectly fine to use over the counter eye drops in conjunction with Restasis, as long as the over the counter drop is only applied fifteen minutes after the Restasis application. Unfortunately at this point in time, there is no “magic pill” to cure people of dry eye syndrome. This is especially negative news as more and more people are being diagnosed with this condition, whether it came about naturally or by other ways such as LASIK surgery.
